Our Approach to Privacy
Privacy isn't a feature we added — it's a principle we started with. Here's how we think about your data at Spark.
Your data is yours
We don't sell your data. We don't share it with advertisers. We don't use it to build profiles that follow you around the internet. Full stop.
What we collect and why
We collect the minimum amount of data needed to make Spark work:
- Profile information — your photos, prompts, and preferences. This is what other users see.
- Location data — used only to show you people nearby. We never store your precise location history.
- Usage data — anonymous analytics that help us understand how people use the app, so we can make it better.
What we don't do
- We never sell your data to third parties
- We never share your profile with external services
- We never use your data for targeted advertising
- We never store messages after both parties delete the conversation
You're in control
You can download all your data at any time. You can delete your account and all associated data with one tap. Your profile visibility is fully in your control — hide from search, pause your profile, or go invisible whenever you want.
End-to-end encryption
Private conversations on Spark are end-to-end encrypted. That means only you and the person you're chatting with can read your messages. Not us, not anyone else.
We think this should be the standard for dating apps, not the exception.
